Roxane Duchesne-Roy
A passionate, multi-discipline artist with a diploma from l’École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, Roxane Duchesne-Roy has performed on stages internationally and in her native Canada with companies including Cirque du Soleil, Cas Public, Les 7 doigts de la main, PPS Danse, L’Opéra de Montréal, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Human Playground and Fleuve Espace Danse. She competed in the first season of the TV dance competition Révolution on TVA network and has continued as a coach, rehearsal director and consultant for dancers in following seasons of the competition (including the season 2 winners and other finalists). In 2011, she co-founded Le Broke Lab collective which has collaborated with 53 choreographers and creators in an array of artistic medium. She also has a musical background and is proud to have had the occasion to incorporate musical performance as percussionist and singer into various shows. Roxane has also been featured on screen in the short films "Sur la ligne", "La boite noire” and "Tribu de fer" by Mas Vidéo Film as well as "Training Session" by director Christian Lalumière. In 2018, she co-produced, co-choreographed and performed in the dance video “Bain Libre” with Flamant collective. She co-choreographed, co-directed and performed in “Carte Mère”, a medium length video accompanying the album release of Audiogram recording artist Catherine Major. Recently, she began studying video editing and creating her own dance films. Off-stage, Roxane is deeply involved in dance education and development. She teaches at her alma mater, l’École Supérieure and at Studio Innova Danse as well as private classes and personal mentorships preparing young dancers for auditions and competitions.
